As we celebrate our 50th anniversay, we would like to welcome 22 new households including 37 new members to our group.  In just a few months we will start a new season full of great hikes, fun filled events and social activities.  Below are the highlights of the coming season.

All members are invited to attend a two day Wilderness First Aid Training on Saturday and Sunday, April 11 & 12 from 8:30 AM to 4:30 AM at the Olympic Valley Community Room.  CPR and AED training will also be part of the training.  This trainng is equally useful on the trail and at home and is encouraged for all members.  For more information CLICK HERE.

Our Spring Dinner will be held on April 13, 2026 at the Tamarack Junction in Reno. (More information is available HERE.) I hope to see many of you there!

Our next event will be a Spring "Away Trip" to Marin County April 19 - 24thWe’ll hike and socialize with fellow Trampers before May’s official hiking season. We visited this breathtaking area in 2017 and discovered diverse hikes and activities on various terrains, including Mount Tamalpais State Park, Angel Island, San Francisco Bay, and beyond. There are numerous beach trails to explore.  For more information and to reserve your spot CLICK HERE.

Our planned hikes for 2026 are posted on our website (CLICK HERE.). These are preliminary and will be updated in April when we have a better handle on the spring trail situation.  You’ll notice that some hikes are still missing leaders or co-leaders. We are still working to identify volunteer hike leaders for these.

On July 14, we will once again hold our annual picnic at Burnt Cedar Beach in Incline Village. Last year as we celebraed our 50th season, over 100 members attended, including some of the organization’s earliest trailblazers. (A group photo is available HERE.)

Our Fall "Away Trip" to Lee Vining has been rescheduled for September 20 to 24, 2026. This beautiful area in the Eastern Sierra offers great hiking and should also provide wonderful fall colors.   For more information CLICK HERE.

It takes a tremendous amount of support to make our hikes, events, and away trips possible. We are always in need of hike leaders, sweeps, and event organizers—so if you can lend a hand, please consider volunteering.

See you on the trails,

Tramper Board

Jim Beres, President
