We have much to celebrate as our 50th season draws to a close in just a few weeks. It feels like only yesterday we kicked off the season with our April Spring Dinner, welcoming new members and reconnecting with friends.

In May, 27 members enjoyed an “Away Hiking Trip” to Maui—complete with sun, beaches, fun, and of course, unforgettable hikes. (Photos are available HERE. )

On July 16, we marked our 50th season again at the annual picnic at Burnt Cedar Beach in Incline Village. More than 100 members attended, including some of the organization’s earliest trailblazers. (A group photo is available HERE.)

Our second planned away trip to Lee Vining had to be cancelled due to smoke and poor air quality.  However, the trip has been rescheduled for September 13 to17, 2026.  More information will be available soon.

Looking ahead, our Fall Dinner will be held on October 27, 2025 at the Tamarack Junction in Reno. (More information is available HERE.) I hope to see many of you there!

The last planned hikes of 2025 are posted on our website (CLICK HERE.). You’ll notice that some hikes are still missing leaders or co-leaders. Unfortunately, without volunteers, those hikes will be cancelled.

We have commenced planning for our 2026 hikes.  It takes a tremendous amount of support to make our hikes, events, and away trips possible. We are always in need of hike leaders, sweeps, and event organizers—so if you can lend a hand, please consider volunteering.

See you on the trails,

Tramper Board

Jim Beres, President
